Located in L’ Annonciation, Quebec, across 55 acres of both wooded areas- and groomed spaces is Sun Youth Camp. The camp, equipped with modern facilities can provide accommodations for 200 people. Cabins sleep 10, and are outfitted with bathroom facilities and heating for year round use. A beautiful lake located on a site provides an instrument for numerous activities which invariably include: canoeing, pedal boats, sailboats, or a refreshing swim.

Sports and recreational activities can be enjoyed both indoors or out. Indoor facilities include: a fully equipped gymnasium,basketball court, volleyball court, badminton equipment, weight training centre, showers, and locker room. Outdoor facilities comprising basketball, tennis, and volleyball courts, baseball diamonds, a football field and an archery range are all available on the site.

Summer camp is primarily held each summer in three sessions, each for a duration of two weeks, where boys and girls attend independently of one another. Qualified adult counselors are on hand to supervise the children. Emphasis is placed on friendship, sports activities, and a relationship with nature. Daily diversified activities, special events such as theme day, Olympic day, and Halloween day, and an extensive sports and recreation program contributes to an enjoyable stay for the children.

Aside, from summer camp the facilities are used for various weekend excursions throughout the year and, the camp may be rented by school or institutions when the facilities are not in use.

Summer camp fees are moderate, however, financial arrangements can be made, so as many children as possible may enjoy nature and the joy of summer camp. This past year, Sun Youth camp hosted less than three hundred children, yet we are please to report that less than one percent paid the full camp cost for their stay at the campsite.

Day Camp

Every summer, we welcome over 300 children ( ages 8 to 15 ) for two week sessions where boys and girls attend independently of one another. Different activities are scheduled for each day and special events such as Olympic day or theme days contribute to an

enjoyable stay.

Smiling faces, sounds of laughter and children merrily playing together is just one-scene repeated yearly at the Day Camp. For eight weeks children enjoy a wide range of sports and recreational activities. However, the name of the game is fun for one and ah. Once a week the children embark on excursions to places such as, museums, La Ronde, Granby zoo, water slides, circus and other places of interest. Other activities enjoyed by the children include:

• arts and crafts,

• theme days,

• horseback riding,

• swimming,

• all types of sports

• barbecues

• theatre.

Space is limited to one hundred children for this program aged five to 13, and a sliding fee scale permits all children access to this service.
